Ministries
At the Mott Evangelical Community Church we are committed to having ministries that are a healthy balance of: Equipping We are committed to winning the lost through: Our outreach events in the community: Our church has been a partner with other churches in order to bring a number of community outreach events to Mott. We have helped sponsor concerts, evangelistic crusades, special speakers, evangelistic films, and the distribution of food to needy families.. Our church is also a partner in a community wide Vacation Bible School. Each year over 100 students and their parents get to hear the gospel though this exciting ministry. Besides community based events we also hold at least one church based outreach event each year. For the past several years we have had a booth at our county fair that took prayer requests, offered Christian materials, and gave away Popsicles and ice water to Fair goers. The faithful witness of our people: Everyone who is a part of our church is encouraged to establish relationships with those who do not yet have a relationship with Jesus Christ so that they can have the opportunity to share the love of Christ with that individual. Regular training on how to be an effective witness is offered by the church. Those classes have included Share Jesus Without Fear, Becoming a Contagious Christian, The Everyday Commission and Evangelism Outside the Box. A firm commitment to prayer: We have a team of prayer partners who have dedicated themselves to pray for people who are working to share their faith and for the people they are sharing with. We also establish specific annual faith goals that we support in prayer. We are currently praying that six people would accept Christ each year as a result of the ministry of this church. The missionaries we support: Cooperstown Bible Camp John & Whitney Holst: Campus Crusade workers at Dickinson State in Dickinson, ND. David & Colleen Little: Missionaries with "The Navigators" working in Russia Rick & Vicky Stigen: Missionaries working with the Evangelical Free Church Missions at the home office in Minneapolis, MN. Ted & Shelly Travis: Working with Jubilee Community Church and Neighborhood Ministries in Denver, CO. Our partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of America Northern Plains District: A partnership of 37 churches across North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. Led by District Superintendent Mike Boyle, these churches work together to support new church plants, offer district student ministries, provide conflict mediation and help pastors and churches have healthy ministries in their communities. Cooperstown Bible Camp: A full service camp offering camps and retreats for all ages at its year round facility south of Cooperstown, ND.
We are committed to building up the believer through: Dynamic and varied worship experiences: In addition to praise, prayer, and proclamation of the word our Sunday morning worship services regularly include musical solos, drama performances, special instrumental accompaniment, sign language, and special dramatic or poetic readings. The recent addition of a digital projection system has further enhanced our worship times by adding projected lyrics and videos, powerpoint outlines of messages and use of other visual materials in worship. Regular Sunday services are augmented by other special services throughout the year. Some of these services include:
Prayer We recognize that prayer must be at the core of everything we do as a church. For this reason prayer is a substantial part of all services, Bible studies and meetings. Additionally, it finds a significant place in our programming.
Christian Education for All Ages: Sunday School classes for all ages are offered throughout the year. Besides Sunday School, elementary children are invited to attend a midweek kids club held during the school release time hour. There are also a number of midweek Bible studies offered through the church or led by individuals from the church. More information on these studies can be found through the Bible Studies link on this website. A highlight of every summer is Vacation Bible School. Held as a community wide event, VBS attracts well over 100 students each summer and offers Biblical lessons in a very fun and creative environment. Our Christian Education offerings are rounded out by special courses that are offered. In the past these have included things such as:
Youth Programs The White Stone Community Youth Group and the WWJD Jr. Youth group meet on the second Sunday of each month for both recreation and study. The groups also participate in summer trips that vary in nature between fun, discipleship and service and in other conferences and camps offered. Specific information about youth ministries can be found through the link at the top of this page. Fellowship We believe that spending time together is essential to having a healthy church family. To achieve that goal a number of events to bring the family together are planned throughout the year. Our pastor appreciation Sunday, Mother's Day breakfast, Graduation celebration, and Sunday School Picnic and Family Night on Wednesday evenings during lent are examples of those events. Free Church Women's Ministry Detailed information on the FCWM is available through the link at the top of the page. We are committed to equipping workers through: Training Evangelism training offered has included the following courses:
Team Work Following the example of Christ sending out the disciples in pairs, we believe that those seeking to share their faith in Jesus with those who do not know Him need to be supported in that effort. We are working to develop accountability partnerships to offer encouragement, advice and prayer support to the workers in harvest field. Teaching Both the motivation for sharing our faith and the methods by which we can most effectively share our faith have been the topic of a number of sermons and sermon series. As our mission statement affirms, we are committed to proclaiming Christ to every generation. |
